Civil War STL app for iPhone and iPad

Based upon the book The Civil War in St. Louis by William C. Winter, the Missouri History Museum’s multimedia Civil War tour invites you to step back in time and imagine the sights, hear the sounds, and experience the complex emotions of those who lived through one of the most tumultuous eras in our country’s history.

Civil War in St. Louis App users can:
•Pinpoint the location of important Civil War related sites in and around the St. Louis Metro area.
•Use the GPS enabled map to easily navigate to these historic places or follow recommended tour routes based upon the user’s exact location.
•Explore a gallery of archival and contemporary images. Pinch and zoom on photographs in the gallery to reveal more detail.
•On the main tour stops, listen to a narrator reveal the dramatic stories behind these historic locations. On secondary stops, read descriptions explaining each site’s connection to Civil War history.
